LONGWOOD, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
A Longwood mother and former model is behind bars, accused of having a crack pipe in her car with her newborn in the back seat.
According to police, Aurelia Kambic was caught in her car. Investigators said that about 8 p.m. Sunday, a customer leaving Big Lots in Longwood called 911. A police report stated the caller said Kambic was in her car and looked "out of it."
After police arrived, the officer found Kambic disoriented in her green Acura and with a crack pipe in the seat next to her. Police said her 2-week-old baby was in a car seat behind her.
Investigators said the former model struggled with the officer after he asked her to get out of the car and tried to handcuff her. She was eventually taken into custody.
Kambic was being held without bond. She faces several charges, including child neglect and resisting an officer.
The newborn, who was unharmed, was released to the care of the father.
