SANFORD, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

One person was killed and another injured after a shooting Thursday afternoon in Sanford.

Officers initially reported that there were three victims -- one deceased, one transported to the hospital and one reported to have run from the scene. The department has since corrected the number of victims to two and not three.

The shooting happened shortly before 2 p.m. near 18th and Peach streets. Goldsboro Elementary Magnet School was briefly placed under lockdown as police searched the neighborhood for two suspects.

One of the victims died at the scene, while the second was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center. One person taken into custody was later identified as a witness and subsequently released. Investigators have identified a person they think is involved the shooting.

The identities of the victims and the suspect have not been released.
