Tens of thousands of comic book, science fiction, television and pop culture fans are converging in Orlando this weekend for MegaCon 2013, one of the largest fan conventions of its kind in the Southeast.
In its 13th year, MegaCon "is a great show because you have so many celebrities and all the pop culture," said actor Lou Ferrigno, famous for playing The Incredible Hulk.
"It's very positive, very exhilarating. It's like going to Disneyland, except it's for the comic book world."
Jimmy Palmiotti, a comic book, television and game writer, enjoys the fan interaction.
"I work on things that people love to play and read. This is a chance for them to come down and say hi to me or complain to me, which is OK too. And I get to interact with the fans, which is wonderful."
Said Ferrigno: "It's fun. As a kid, I didn't have anything like this to go to. This is wonderful. It's a great feeling."
MegaCon 2013 is Friday-Sunday at the Orange County Convention Center. Go to MegaConvention.com for details.
