DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
A man riding a bicycle was shot dead Sunday, police said.
Investigators say Joseph A. Ruffing, 28, of Daytona Beach was found lying on Forest Glen Boulevard just after 5:30 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his lower torso. His bicycle was on the ground about 30 feet away.
The witness who found Ruffing told Daytona Beach Police he heard a single gunshot and a car speeding away around that time.
Ruffing was shot while riding the bike, then either fell or jumped off and ran, police say.
Anyone with information on this homicide is asked to call Daytona Beach Police.
