COCOA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
A suspect in the murder of a Cocoa woman turned himself in to authorities in Virginia, investigators said.
Marcus Antonio Royal, 33, walked into the Richmond, Va., Police Department and handed his identification to the police chief, who was in the lobby, and said he was wanted in Florida for a murder, Cocoa Police said.
Royal had been sought in connection with the Sunday morning slaying of Faye Jones, 82, of Cocoa. He was thought to have been driving Jones' dark green Ford Fusion. Some of Jones' belongings were found along a road in Port St. John.
A church carpool driver who knocked on Jones' door Sunday morning to pick her up was attacked and injured.
