It started out as a report of a domestic disturbance, but
police found a lot more at a home in Germantown.
An apparent dog-fighting ring was being run from the home on
the 6300 hundred block of Norwood Street.
SPCA officers say seven dogs – a mix of pit bulls and
bulldogs – were found in relatively good shape, except for one dog that was
wounded.
The actual ring was in a vacant home next door.
"If you go upstairs to the front bedroom, the bedroom
is totally empty – there's no furniture in there – but it was used as a ring.
There's blood all over the walls, all four walls," said the SPCA's George Bengal.
Police also found a stolen motorcycle and drugs on the
property.
No charges have been filed as of yet, but the SPCA says the
homeowner faces at least one charge for felony dog fighting.
FOX 29's Stacey Stauffer has more details in
this live report from outside SPCA headquarters.
