ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
The Arnold Palmer Invitational added a new pre-tournament event this year that benefits children's cancer research.
Organizers say about 400 people turned out for the inaugural Arnie's March Against Children's Cancer.
The various teams raised money, then marched about a mile from the eighth fairway to the clubhouse and back.
The almost $50,000 raised will go toward children's cancer research and clinical trials at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in downtown Orlando.
FOX 35's Tom Johnson was there and talked to a young cancer patient's family about what the fundraiser and the hospital mean to them.
