LAKE MARY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
It's hard enough to make the decision to put a loved one in a nursing home, but do you really know who is living among your family members in that facility?
That question is fueling a new mission for a family that experienced the unthinkable.
Norma Page was murdered in St. Cloud more than 30 years ago. The man who confessed to her murder was sent to a nursing facility, because of his dementia, without any of the residents ever knowing.
Now, Page's family is pushing for new legislation, to require background checks for all nursing home residents. It's called Norma's Nursing Home Law.
