The Atlanta Police Department has launched internal and criminal investigations against an officer now on administrative duty after being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old girl.

Atlanta City Councilman Michael Bond said the alleged inappropriate contact came to light last weekend when the officer didn't respond to his radio. When concerned fellow tried to find him, they found him at the teen's home arguing with her guardian about the alleged contact, Bond said.
Sources tell FOX 5's Morse Diggs that the teen's aunt had found messages and pictures on her niece's cell phone.
Bond says that this is the kind of case that damages the reputation of those had authority.
"I was assured personally by the chief that they're going to take swift and direct action on this individual to get them out of the Atlanta Police Department," Bond said.
Carlos Campos of the Atlanta Police Department said in a statement, "the allegations are being taken seriously and if determined to be true, disciplinary action will be taken against the officer. Further comment will be withheld while the investigation seeks to determine the facts of the complaint."
