Boy accidentally shot by BB gun dies, Polk deputies say

POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

A 10-year-old Polk County boy who was shot in the head with a BB gun has died.

Skyler Richardson was accidentally shot by his 13-year-old brother at close range last week near their home in Frostproof.

Investigators said the boys recently were given Daisy Powerline 880S BB/pellet guns and were firing at targets outside when the older brother accidentally shot his sibling.

Skyler was airlifted to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa. He died late Wednesday night from his injuries, according to Polk County deputies.
