JetBlue security scare at JFK

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Passengers were forced to stay on a JetBlue plane on the tarmac at JFK for hours on Thursday afternoon because of a security situation.

JetBlue Flight 141 was scheduled to fly to West Palm Beach.  The plane left the terminal at 2:58 p.m. for a 2:55 p.m. scheduled departure but returned to the terminal before taking off.

JetBlue says the aircraft was delayed on the ground at JFK as local authorities assessed the situation.  The airline did not release information on the exact nature of the incident.

Customers and crew remained on board the plane.

A spokesperson for the airline, in a statement, said:  "There is no safety concern regarding the aircraft, crew and customers at this time."
