LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles prosecutors have charged an optometrist with installing a small hidden video recorder in an office restroom.
The Los Angeles Times reports (http://lat.ms/YhqMq4 ) 38-year-old Foad Shirazian ("FOE-ad shur-OZ-ee-uhn") of Calabasas has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of violating the privacy of others by using a concealed video recording device.
Authorities say 1 of Shirazian's female employees found the camera in February hidden behind a poster on the wall of a restroom in his Tarzana office.
She reported the discovery to police.
A call to Shirazian's office went unanswered on Friday.
He is scheduled to be arraigned April 12 in Van Nuys Superior Court.
If convicted, the optometrist faces six months in jail and a $1,000 fine for each felony count.
