ZEPHYRHILLS (FOX 13) -

A skydiving trip turned tragic Saturday in Zephyrhills.

An instructor and his student were killed when something went wrong during their jump. The remains of the men were located in a wooded area just south of Zephyrhills Municipal Airport off Yonkers Rd. at approximately 7:30 p.m.

According to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report the deceased were visiting the area from Iceland. They were among a group of 22 that went up for a skydiving jump just after 10 a.m.

The instructor has been identified as 40-year-old Orvar Arnarson from Reykjavik, Iceland. The student has been identified as 25-year-old Andrimar Pordarson. His hometown is not known.

"It's really sad; something went terribly wrong," said Skydive City Manager TK Hayes. "It's a tragic day for a bunch of friends over here on vacation, having a good time."

When only 20 jumpers returned officials with Skydive City contacted the Zephryhills Police Department and a search for the two men began. Pasco SO deputies were called in just after 3:30 p.m.

The official cause of the tragedy is not yet known as the investigation continues.
