Community service groups from across the state gathered at the Georgia state Capitol on Tuesday.
Female leaders of Links Incorporated rallied to fight childhood obesity.
The group also had a spirited discussion with Spelman College's president and Atlanta Public Schools Chief Erroll Davis about so-called campus-carry legislation. it would let permitted owners carry guns in most areas of college campuses. They stressed child safety first and they urged the governor not to sign the gun bill.
The group also discussed its educational programs to train teachers in Africa and provide students with books.
