A Port Orange real-estate agent has been accused of stealing prescription medication after a couple who hired her caught her on camera allegedly stealing the meds.
Port Orange police say Jessica Morford, 32, tried to steal from people whose homes she was hired to help sell.
"She was more than just a Realtor," Jackie Jeske said. "She was someone we could trust, I thought."
Jeske said she and her husband knew something wasn't right after Morford started showing their house months ago. Jeske said she started going through her prescribed medications faster than usual.
"We noticed they would get different every time we'd have more showings of our home," Jeske said.
Morford has been charged with theft of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. She was arrested Friday after a couple set up a hidden camera.
Police said the video shows Morford check out the Jeskes' prescription bottle of pills -- and help herself to some. Then, police said the video shows Morford taking a swig of the couple's mouthwash.
"My mouth dropped open," Jeske said. "I was in utter shock."
Jeske said she needs the pills to live after undergoing brain surgery about three years ago.
"When these meds are mixed up, my husband notices instantly," Jeske said. "My function isn't as well. My speech gets slurred; it's hard to communicate."
And just over a week ago, Jeske said a friend noticed something strange.
"They said when they got home, to our house that evening that they were missing a large quantity of their prescription -- and by large, I mean about 70 of the pills out of her bottle," Jeske said.
The Jeskes said they then remembered how often Morford, an agent with the Real Living All Florida Realty, would tell them to leave their house.
"There were times she would show the home and we would be here and she would say, OK, let's do the drill," Jeske said. "You can walk the dog, and I'll tidy up the house a bit."
The couple said they had a hunch about Morford but needed proof. So they bought a small pen camera, set it up in their master bathroom and took the evidence to police.
The Real Living All Florida Reality told FOX 35 that Morford has lost her job and license, and the arrest is a shock to them. A spokesperson added that Morford was a top-rated agent and active in the community.
Investigators think there may be more victims.
"She was a friend of mine," Jeske said. "I will never trust her again. I will never trust her, but I forgive her for what she has done."
