A deeper look at the management of Parkinson's disease
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention rates complications from Parkinson's disease as the 14th leading cause of death in the United States. Each year, 50,000 to 60,000 new cases of Parkinson's are diagnosed, adding to the 1 million people who currently struggle the disease. New treatments are being discovered every year to manage and cope with this disease.
To kick off Parkinson's awareness month, Florida Hospital will team up with the National Parkinson Foundation on April 12 to host a conference on the current and future management of Parkinson's disease. Experts will speak about topics such as:
How exercise is power;
Improving the hospital experience for Parkinson's patients;
The dynamics of stem cell research.
