Woman shot to death at Myst Lounge in Southfield

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

A 33 year-old woman was shot and killed early Sunday morning following a fight inside the Myst Ultra Lounge on Northwestern Highway in Southfield.

Lt. Nick Loussia said the shooting occurred approximately 2:15 a.m. The victim was found inside the club with a gunshot wound to the her head, according to the Oakland County Medical Examiner. She was transported to Beaumont Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Witnesses say several people were bounced from the club following a fight inside. One of the people thrown out was overheard making threats to come back with a weapon.

Police say it was only a short time later that shots were fired from the outside parking lot into the building.

Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to call the Southfield Police Department at 248-796-5500.

    The victim of a hit and run accident in Manhattan six weeks ago has died. Charity Hicks had been in a coma since being hit by a car at a bus stop on 10th Avenue May 31st. Hicks was a community activist from Detroit who helped start the anti-water shut off movement.
