PHOENIX -

A woman escaped a burning home near 33rd Avenue and Cholla early Sunday morning.

Phoenix Fire Capt. Jonathan Jacobs says when firefighters arrived, heavy fire was coming out of the roof of the home and a woman was outside.

Crews found a ruptured natural gas line in the home that was feeding the fire.

Firefighters contained the leak within five minutes and got the fire under control in after another 10 minutes.

The woman was taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation.

Fire investigators are working on what caused the fire.
