More boys step forward alleging abuse by Orlando youth coach
ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
More alleged victims have come forward against a longtime youth football coach accused of lewd behavior, Orlando Police say.
Jeffery Kerr McWhorter, 54, was arrested Friday and charged with soliciting lewd acts on a child.
Police say at least seven victims have come forward against the longtime volunteer with the Lorna Doone Park Cowboys. Orlando Police received their first complaint last week alleging sexual misconduct.
In a police affidavit, the boys say McWhorter sometimes asked them to perform sex acts, even offering them money.
McWhorter has been coaching youth football for 32 years and most recently has volunteered for City of Orlando football and basketball leagues. Some families of former players say the allegations are out of character for the longtime coach.
More charges could be filed against McWhorter as the investigation continues. He is out of jail on bond and is forbidden to have contact with the alleged victims.
