(FOX 11) A botched burglary is what investigators are beginning to think.

At the arraignment for 29-year-old Daniel Martinez, we learned he was supposedly in a getaway vehicle, the night when a 10-year-old Northridge girl was abducted from her bedroom.

The primary suspect, Tobias Summers, is accused of breaking into the house, and instead of coming out with computers or TV, he was carrying the young girl.

Martinez adrove them for a bit, and got out of the car, leaving the girl alone with Summers, who eventually left her at a hospital parking lot, authorities say.

Summers faces over 30 sexual counts, plus kidnapping a person under fourteen years of age, enhancement of kidnapping for sexual purposes. The list goes on in the 37-count paperwork.

Martinez, who has pled not guilty, faces counts of burglary and kidnapping.

Why the family was targeted remains a mystery. Anyone who sees Summers is asked to call 911.

Meanwhile, FOX 11 is told that the LAPD has found the abandoned San Fernando house where they believe the girl was taken to by her abductors.

An NYPD plan intended to better connect with the community seems to have backfired. The police department asked its Twitter followers to share pictures of themselves with New York City police officers using the hashtag "myNYPD." Some did share nice pictures, but others decided to not "play nice, " sharing beating photos and more.

Officials say a 16-year-old boy is "lucky to be alive" and unharmed after flying from California to Hawaii stowed away in a plane's wheel well, surviving cold temperatures at 38,000 feet and a lack of oxygen. "Doesn't even remember the flight," FBI spokesman Tom Simon in Honolulu told The Associated Press on Sunday night. "It's amazing he survived that."
