City Council Proposes Raising Money For Schools With Liquor Tax

PHILADELPHIA -

You may soon be raising your glass for the future of Philadelphia students.

City council is proposing raising the liquor tax to 15 percent.

That extra 10 percent would go towards Philadelphia schools.

Mayor Michael Nutter says it is an option his administration in considering.

City council hopes to raise $60 million with the new tax.
