A battalion of the Delaware National Guard is getting ready for deployment to Afghanistan, and well-wishers are saying goodbye.
Saturday is the departure ceremony for the 198th Expeditionary Signal Battalion. It's being held at the stadium at Delaware State University in Dover
About 325 members of the battalion will report to Fort Bliss in Texas next week for training. They'll head to Afghanistan after about four to six weeks.
The 198th provides command, control and supervision of units.
