PHOENIX -

A devoted customer who ate at least 7,000 meals at a Phoenix diner died on April 1.

Ross Boyd ate at the Original 5 & Diner at 16th Street and Camelback Road everyday, twice a day for more than 18 years. The only day he'd miss was Christmas.

It was only when he developed medical issues that he wasn't able to continue his normal routine.

Boyd was a fixture at the restaurant and could be seen drawing pictures at the table while he ate his meals.

A manager says the beloved customer supposedly left numerous drawings to the diner.

Each day, Boyd would sit in the same spot: the booth right by the cash register.

5 & Diner is hoping to organize a memorial service to celebrate Boyd's life.

In 2007, FOX 10 interviewed Boyd during his 5,000th meal; he had his favorite, french toast.
