Just in time for Spring, author Barbara Reich shared her top tips for organizing your home. Reich is the author of "Secrets of an Organized Mom."
Throw away all expired medicines/toiletries
Gather all of the cosmetics and products you don't use and give them to someone who will enjoy them.
Get it off the floor!
The floor is NOT a storage option. Avoid having books, magazines, bags, or boxes reside there permanently.
When you have excess clutter in your bedroom, it's not a calm place to sleep.
Get rid of anything that doesn't work
Edit that box/bag of wires/chargers that's been collecting dust in your closet for years.
Throw out any markers or pens that are out of ink and pencils without erasers.
Throw out mismatched socks. If the mate hasn't shown up yet, it's long gone. Buy all the same make and color of sock.
Clean your refrigerator door
Get rid of magnets and paper. This is an appliance, not a canvas.
Discard invitations and notices that have long passed.
Your child brings home a new drawing every day. None of them need to be displayed, ESPECIALLY the ones drawn by the teacher.
