LUKEVILLE, Ariz. -

A Phoenix man was arrested at the border on Wednesday after money was found hidden in his shoes.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers and Border Patrol agents at the Lukeville Port of Entry were alerted to take a closer look at a 22-year-old man trying to leave the U.S.

Officers say they found $10,744 hidden in the man's shoes.

The man was arrested and referred to ICE's Homeland Security Investigations.
