ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

A domestic dispute between a husband and wife Sunday led to a crash at State Road 436 and Interstate 4 that left a woman in critical condition, police say.

The accident happened just before 7 a.m. in Seminole County. Officers told FOX 35 the woman was being chased by her husband after an argument.

That's when she ran a red light and clipped another driver turning eastbound on State Road 436 in Altamonte Springs. The wreck was so bad, an innocent bystander who was cut off had to be cut out of her car using the jaws of life. She was in critical condition Sunday at Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Meanwhile, when officers arrived to the scene, they said they saw 39-year-old  Patrick Hicks pulling his wife out of her car, beating and chasing her. Cops said they arrived just in time to stop the chase.

Hicks is charged with battery and domestic violence. He will be placed on a no bond status.

Officers said the wife will most likely be cited for running a red light.
