Police say they're investigating after a man and a woman were shot and killed in northwest Atlanta on Wednesday afternoon.
Officers were called to were called to the home on Holly Street just before 5 p.m. When they arrived, they found a man and woman who had been shot multiple times. Both victims were dead. Authorities identified the victims on Thursday as 28-year-old Derrick Pitts and 20-year-old Shonenneshia Tucker.
Investigators say preliminary indications are that the shootings are a result of a domestic dispute between the suspect and Tucker. They have not identified the suspect, but they say he has a child with Tucker
Tucker's mother said she got a text message from her daughter around 4 p.m. saying she was on her way home. Less than an hour later, she says she got another call saying her daughter had been shot.
Investigators blocked off three sections of Holly Street while they were investigating on Wednesday. Neighbors told FOX 5 they heard multiple gunshots.
