KISSIMMEE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
A Kissimmee owner of a horse riding business was arrested Tuesday after a 9-year-old girl told deputies she had been sexually battered by a relative for several years, the Osceola County Sheriff's Office said.
Loomes Wheeler Jr., 70, owner of Horse World Riding Stables, has been charged with nine counts of capital sexual battery, four counts of lewd and lascivious conduct and three counts of sexual performance by a child.
The 9-year-old girl told deputies the first incident occurred when she was 5, according to a Sheriff's Office report, and that the sex acts happened at his home on Granada Boulevard and at Horse World. The incidents included sexual battery and Wheeler touching her inappropriately, deputies said.
Wheeler has run Horse World Riding Stables since 1992, according to its website.
On Tuesday, detectives with a warrant searched Wheeler's home and business and took in several pieces of evidence, including electronic devices.
Wheeler was brought in for questioning but did not cooperate with the investigation, deputies said. He was booked into the Osceola County jail late Tuesday on no bond.
The investigation is ongoing, and more charges are pending, deputies said.
