A New Jersey fugitive wanted on homicide charges was arrested by U.S. Marshals and Polk County deputies Wednesday morning in Kissimmee, authorities said.

Raymond A. Finch, 34, faces murder charges in connection with the 2007 shooting of a woman and her baby while they were sleeping in their home. The woman died, and the baby survived but was paralyzed.

Deputies say the homicide remained unsolved until recently, when Finch was identified as the suspect, and a warrant was issued.

U.S. Marshals in the northeast received information that Finch may be in the Kissimmee area. They located him at a home on Anchovie Court and took him into custody without incident.

"Thanks to our valuable partnership with U.S. Marshals, we were able to swiftly apprehend this violent fugitive just two days after his arrest warrant was issued," Sheriff Grady Judd said.

Finch was booked into the Polk County Jail, where he awaits extradition to Cumberland County, N.J.
