The latest shooting occurred just after midnight on the Northwest Side, police said. About 12:20 p.m., a 34-year-old man walked into the emergency room of Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center with gunshot wounds to his side and chest, police said.

Police said the man, listed in serious condition, told officers he was shot while standing in the 3900 block of North Avondale Avenue. The man's girlfriend drove him to the hospital, police said.

Police said the man was in the 12300 block of South Emerald Avenue when he was shot in the back and right arm, police said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn for treatment.

Five hours earlier, two 19-year-old men were shot in the same neighborhood in what could also have been a drive-by shooting, police said. The two were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn after each suffered a gunshot wound to the leg in the 12000 block of South Lafayette Avenue, police said. Both were initially listed in serious condition, according to police.

About 7:15 p.m. in Woodlawn, a 16-year-old boy was shot as he stood on a sidewalk near the 1500 block of East 62nd Street, police said. The boy was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was listed in "stable" condition.

Several people were also shot on the West Side on Thursday.

In the Austin neighborhood about 4 p.m. a man was shot when he tried to run from a gunman who had just robbed him, police said.

The man was in the 100 block of North Mason Avenue when a gunman in a black hoodie approached and demanded money, police said. After surrendering an unknown amount of cash, the robbery victim was shot in the shoulder when he turned and ran, police said.

In the Garfield Park neighborhood, a 44-year-old man was seriously wounded when he was shot in his left side about 3:10 p.m., police said. The man was in the 3000 block of West Carroll Avenue when he was shot, police said.

During a 1:10 p.m. shooting in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, a 25-year-old man told police he heard gunshots and then felt pain. At the time the man was standing on the sidewalk near West North and North St. Louis avenues, police said. The man was listed in "stable" condition, police said.
