SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

George is a typical 17-year-old.  He likes sports, action movies and spending time with friends.  However, there is something else that really revs his engine.

George has a need for speed and really loves being active.  That is why we brought him to JD Indoor Karting in Novi.

He likes all sports, including basketball, football and baseball, as well as things like skating and travel.  He is fun and easy going, the kind of person people like to spend time with.

"I've been working with George for almost a year, and every time I've been with him, he's always making me laugh.  He's always smiling.  He's an absolute joy to be around," said Amanda Pasionek, an adoption resource consultant.

George is one of a hundred children featured in a special traveling exhibit called the Michigan Heart Gallery.  It features photographs of the many kids in our state waiting to be adopted by a loving family.

"It's amazing when you look at the exhibit how you can see little pieces of the personality that come through these photographs," said Michelle Parra from the Michigan Adoption Resource Exchange.

George is a terrific young man with a great personality.  He has a lot to offer, and he is still hoping to find a loving family so they can share life's adventures together.

"I will be there for people, and they will be there for me, so I like to help people out and care for them," George said.

"George hundred percent wants a family.  He hasn't given up yet, so I just really want to find a family for him and complete his dream," Pasionek said.

To learn more about George, call 1-800-589-6273.

The 2013 Michigan Heart Gallery grand opening is Saturday, April 20 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Jamison Temple Baptist Church in Detroit.  Representatives from local adoption agencies will be on hand to answer any questions you might have about adopting a child.
