An Orlando man has been charged in the armed sexual assault of an elderly woman Saturday evening.
Orlando Police said Dominic Alonze Reed, 45, entered the Salvation Army senior housing at 633 W. Colonial Drive around 6:30 p.m. Saturday and forced his way into the apartment of an 82-year-old woman.
Investigators said Reed then grabbed a knife, threatened the victim and cut off her clothes before forcefully committing sexual battery against her. Police said Reed also took the victims money before fleeing the scene.
On Sunday, officers found Reed in the downtown area and arrested him without incident. He was wearing the same clothing from the time of the crime, they said.
Reed is being held at the Orange County Jail. His charges include sexual battery with a deadly weapon/physical force, home invasion robbery, armed kidnapping with intent to commit a felony and aggravated battery on a person over 65 with a deadly weapon.
Reed is due in an Orange County courtroom at 8:30 a.m. Monday.
