Traffic Stop Leads To Discovery Of $1.2 Million Worth Of Heroin

Police in Cheltenham Township say a traffic stop on Sunday led to the discovery of 4 kilograms of heroin packed inside the trunk of a car.

According to police, a Chrysler 300 was pulled over Sunday night around 8:15 p.m. for traffic violations. Investigators say the driver, identified as 34-year-old Frankie Melecio Laboy, was nervous and was allegedly uncooperative with officers.

Laboy was taken into custody after police say a check of his background revealed an outstanding warrant out of Florida for receiving stolen property.

The car was seized and on Monday, police say they executed a search warrant, where they discovered the heroin. Investigators estimate the heroin to be worth a street value of $1.2 million.

Laboy faces possession with intent to deliver, police said.
