PHILADELPHIA -

Surveillance video shows a suspect fleeing down Pine Street near 4th and turning right onto Lawrence with the victim not far behind. Seconds later witnesses and police say there was a single gun shot.

"We heard a pop out the back window. We heard something hit the ground and we heard a groan," said neighbor Alex Lupis, who raced out his back door to try and assist the shooting victim, along with other neighbors.

Neighbors ran from their homes to the side of the robbery victim, a local pharmacist. The victim was raced to Jefferson Hospital by police with a gunshot wound to his right upper chest.

"The victim was laying on the ground. His right shoulder was bleeding," Lupis said. "There were already two people out here helping him, calling the cops."

"He's a good person," said CVS customer Joshua Kaufman, who saw the pharmacist a couple of days ago at the store. Several customers told FOX 29 they have known the victim for years.

"It's just awful. It couldn't have happened to a nicer person. ... It's awful. It's awful news to hear it happening to someone like that," Kaufman said.

The shooting comes just nine months after 32-year-old Michael Hagan Junior was gunned down at 4th and Lombard. His murder remains unsolved. Forty-six-year-old Darren Rogers was beaten and shot on the same block in November 2011. He was paralyzed.

"Is this just a location that some of these thugs go to try and find what they consider to be easy targets?" Commissioner Charles Ramsey said Tuesday morning.

"It's a little troubling to think that people feel comfortable coming into this neighborhood to do stuff like that," Lupis said.

"We love the neighborhood, it's a beautiful neighborhood. We just can't stand it that there's this kind of violence happening," another neighbor told FOX 29.

"This stuff is not supposed to happen here," Kaurfman added.

Police were credited with racing the pharmacist to the hospital in their squad car. He is in critical, but stable condition.

The suspect got away with an iPhone and personal items. Homicide Detectives are looking for possible links to Michael Hagan's murder.

There's a $50,000 reward in that case.

Video games may be pure fantasy, but a violent action-adventure game called "Watch Dogs" has ignited a very real debate in one South Jersey community. Watch Dog allows players to adopt the persona of a James Bond-like computer hacker, chasing an evil mastermind. People say it's chock-full of foul language, sex and violence, features dark and foreboding backdrops. The latest version, which is due out this fall may be set in Camden.
