Woman doused in lye debuts new face after transplant
By FOX 10 News Staff
It was about six years ago when Carmen Tarleton was attacked by her estranged husband. She was doused with lye that burned over 80 percent of her body.
In February she went through a life changing surgery and received a full face transplant at Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital.
Wednesday she spoke out for the first time after her successful surgery.
"My biggest hopes were to have all the pain in my neck relieved and it was instantly, when I woke up" said Tarleton. "I'm so much more comfortable than I was--than I have ever been in the last six years."
