The world of Harry Potter is going to get a whole lot bigger.
Universal Orlando on Wednesday confirmed an expansion to its successful Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction, set to open in 2014.
The expansion, called "Diagon Alley," will be themed around the city of London as depicted in the Harry Potter books, the company said in a statement.
Diagon Alley be within the Universal Studios Florida theme park and not in Islands of Adventure, where the current Wizarding World attraction resides. Guests will travel between "London" and Wizarding World aboard the Hogwarts Express, the train Harry Potter took between London and Hogsmeade, Universal Orlando said.
Construction on Diagon Alley is underway. Its marquee attraction will be inspired by the book series' Gringotts bank. Shops and restaurants are also planned.
"We are continuing the journey and adding an entirely new level of adventure," Chairman of Universal Parks and Resorts Tom Williams said in a statement. "And we are bringing the same drive, commitment, enthusiasm and innovation to this project as we did to the first."
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction opened at Islands of Adventure in June 2010.
