Rapper Chris Kelly of Kris Kross mourned

ATLANTA -

The hip hop world is mourning the loss of rapper Chris Kelly.

Police say the 34-year-old died of a drug overdose last week. He was one-half of the duo Kris Kross, which scored a #1 hit in 1992 with "Jump."

About 700 mourners were expected at the Murray Brothers Funeral Home in southwest Atlanta on Wednesday.

Lamar Willis, Kelly's uncle, said he'll be missed.

"He was a beautiful person, he loved life. He was a good son, a good grandson, a good nephew. He just, he loved life. He loved the hip-hop world. He was excited about getting back on stage. He was getting ready to resume his career. I mean, everything just falls in place for him and then tragedy struck," Willis said.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church.
