They're funky, fun and could win these students a nice chunk of change.

"Really proud.. they work real hard.. very creative.. great group of students, got their own ideas and dedicated," said art teacher Beth Isaacs.

"It's just amazing that it just started out as an art project for fun into this big thing," said Julie Reidhead.

The girls each with their own ideas to share, drew and painted out of inspiration.

"It's a high top on the inside.  It has graffiti and it's either music or rhythm and it starts off with a bright colors like yellow," said Rafaela Ioera.

Sophie Henrie added, "I like doing sunsets and stuff, it has desert and stuff and cactus 'cause Arizona has a lot of cactus."

"I always like the idea of a hand painting something, so I was trying to think of something that worked with nature and I came up with butterflies everyone likes butterflies," said Reidhead.

The shoes are just amazing and you can vote through midnight Monday.  The winner will be announced Tuesday morning.  On the web site, just select southwest.

"Some people are good at sports, math, science and I'm good at drawing," said Reidhead.

The top 5 winners get a trip to New York City in June.  First place wins $50,000 for their art department.  The top 4 schools get $10,000 for their art department.
