Teacher accused of having sex with student arrested again after second victim is ID'd
SANFORD, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
A Seminole County high school teacher who was arrested on Wednesday, accused of having sex with a 17-year-old student, has been arrested again after a second victim was identified, the Seminole County Sheriff Office says.
Scott Kimbrough, 39, of Winter Park, was booked into the John E. Polk Correctional Facility and is scheduled to attend a first appearance before a judge on Saturday morning.
The Lyman High School teacher was already facing three counts of sexual assault on a minor. Deputies said Kimbrough and the 17-year-old student had sex three times at his Winter Park home over the past two-and-a-half months.
Kimbrough now faces two additional counts of sexual assault on a minor and two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior after the second victim disclosed the abuse took place during the summer of 2011, just after she turned 15 years old.
Following his arrest on Wednesday, Kimbrough posted $10,200 bond and left the Seminole jail early Thursday. He is currently being held on a no bond status following his second arrest.
Kimbrough was placed on paid suspension after the first arrest. A Seminole County school official said his status was expected to switch to unpaid suspension on May 22, as the district begins the process of terminating his employment.
Kimbrough has been teaching for Seminole County Schools since 1999, and until this arrest, there was nothing in his personnel file, according to school officials.
Investigators are looking into the possibility of more victims. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 407-665-6650.
