SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Two people are dead after a fiery crash that began with a car fleeing Savannah police.

Authorities say an officer approached a car parked at a boat ramp on Islands Expressway early Sunday.

The car sped away and crashed into several trees, bursting into flames.

The Savannah Morning News says a police officer pulled 30-old-year old Jennifer M. McLaughlin out of the burning car, but she died at Memorial University Medical Center.

Police are still trying to determine identify the body of the driver, who also died.
