State-of-the art high speed internet is coming to Stockbridge.
The Stockbridge City Council approved a $15 million deal to develop, build and run a fiber optic network with broadband capacity that's 100 times faster than most connections.
The deal with Savannah-based Community Broadband will link businesses, government, schools, hospitals and homes.
The project is expected to bring 38 jobs to Stockbridge. City leaders hope it will attract major businesses to the area.
The first customer is expected to be wired in by September 2014.
