Man found dead in bedroom by his child, Winter Garden Police say
WINTER GARDEN, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
A 35-year-old man was found dead in his bedroom by his child Friday, police say, in Winter Garden's first murder in more than three years.
Sylvester Wright was shot sometime after 11 p.m. Wednesday, Winter Garden Police said. He was found by his child, who had gone to see him.
Detectives say Wright's home was neat, but the bedroom in which he was found was ransacked. There appeared to be no forced entry into the back of the home. No electronics were stolen, but some items were taken, they said.
The house was actually immaculate except for his bedroom. His bedroom had been ransacked," Sgt. Scott Allen said. "Everything was in disarray, and obviously someone was looking for something."
Investigators are reviewing surveillance video that shows Wright still alive Wednesday night at a convenience store.
There is now a $5,000 reward through Crimeline for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-423-TIPS.
