MONROE, Mich. (WJBK) -

A man who investigators say was angry about the way his divorce was being handled has been charged with threatening two judges in Monroe County.

43-year-old Mark W. McNamee of Flat Rock was arraigned in district court on Monday on three counts of malicious use of a telecommunication device.

Prosecutors say McNamee made several threats by phone and the internet to Probate Judges Frank L. Arnold and John A. Hohman Jr. according to a report in The Monroe Evening News. The misdemeanor carries up to 6 months in jail. McNamee is going through a divorce and is subject of a personal protection order that affects his contact with his children.

McNamee reportedly told District Judge Jack Vitale claimed he 'didn't mean anything' by the statements before his bond was set at $5,000.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
