GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. (WJBK) -

42-year-old Myron Williams was in court in Grosse Pointe Park on Wednesday charged with possession and intent to deliver marijuana.

Marijuana was discovered at the flat where he was staying next door to where 35-year-old Sabrina Gianino was found strangled last week.

Police raided Williams' flat on Sunday removing shirts, shoes, a towel, a green bag and marijuana.

"The case is part of a larger ongoing homicide investigation. We expect there may well be additional charges, and we don't want him to... either harm anyone or... leave the jurisdiction," said Wayne County Assistant Prosecutor Molly Kettler.

The judge set bond at $250,000 cash as the investigation continues into Gianino's murder and Williams' connection to that murder.

In court, Kettler read off Williams' rap sheet from his home state of Louisiana, which included battery, burglary, assault and cocaine. Williams took issue with just about everything.

"I've only been convicted of one felony," he said. "That was 25 years ago."

"I ain't never delivered no marijuana to nobody."

"Why haven't I talked to a lawyer. Nobody will let me talk to a lawyer."

Williams was argumentative, but not combative. His nephew with whom Williams, his wife and four children had been staying recently, spoke to reporters outside of court.

"He didn't do it," said Dell Williams. "I don't think he would could kill nobody, man. He got a daughter, man. He didn't try to kill nobody."

Police have told him there's another person of interest, but they would not confirm that they're still searching for another suspect.

Meanwhile, neighbors have understandably been on edge ever since the murder happened. Chief Hiller, while not commenting on specifics of the case, sought to reassure the community.

"I can assure the residents that this is a safe community," he said. "Our officers are continuing daily to investigate, and we hope to have further information at a later point in time."

Myron Williams is due back in court next Wednesday.
