Woman, grandson find loaded gun on Disney World ride

Posted: Updated:

A Walt Disney World guest with her grandson found a loaded gun on the Dinosaur ride at Animal Kingdom on Sunday, according to authorities.

The gun, a Cobra .380-caliber automatic, was confiscated, and no one was hurt, an Orange County Sheriff's Office report states.

According to the report, just after noon Sunday, a woman and her grandson exited the Dinosaur ride and handed a park attendant a gun. The boy told the attendant, "My grandma found it on the seat," the report stated.

When a deputy arrived on scene, an off-duty deputy was with Angelo Lista, 44, of Royal Palm Beach, who said the gun "just slipped out" of his back pocket "as a result of the ride being extremely bumpy."

Lista, who has a valid concealed weapons permit, said he arrived at Disney World earlier in the day and went through the security bag check with the gun in his pocket, the report said. He told deputies he didn't know guns were not allowed in the park.

Lista claimed ownership of the gun and cooperated with authorities.
