A Winter Park wine-tasting room allows guests to sample more than 156 wines from around the world without leaving Central Florida.
Long lines at The Wine Room on Park Avenue are routine on Friday and Saturday nights. The business has been so popular that the owner has talked about remodeling to make room for more seating.
"The whole idea was to let people taste wine before they buy it," general manager Jim Hepple said. "When you don't know whether you want to spend $100 on a bottle of wine, you can come to The Wine Room and taste it, and then you'll understand why the wine costs what it costs."
Wines are sorted by country of origin or grape varietal. Tasters insert a card into a wine-dispensing machine, which allows them to purchase samples.
