Selfies Could Help Police Track Missing Phone

GLOUCESTER TWP., N.J. -

There are some precious memories on Jim Hollinger's iPhone. Problem is they're not his. They're of an unidentified man whose pictures are popping up on Hollinger's new phone after his old one was stolen.

"I'm getting all his stuff. It's all forwarding to my phone," exclaims Hollinger. "I'm like, 'Wow, I've got him in the car,'" he says looking at his phone, filming each other listening to Power 99 and having a good time."

Hollinger says his phone was swiped from the cup holder of his truck several weeks ago while he ran inside a Gloucester Township store.

After getting a new phone activated, Hollinger started getting a window into the life of the guy who has his hold phone, all thanks to Apple's iCloud feature. It stores pictures and contact information online, then sends it all to your cell.

Hollinger showed us video at a child's football game that the unidentified man shot with his old iPhone. The man and his girl also used it to take selfies and family photos.

Hollinger says when he called one of the contacts listed as "My Love," he didn't get the response he was hoping for.

"I said, 'I know your boyfriend or husband has my phone. I see the pictures and the kids. If you could return my phone or I can meet with you,'" Hollinger said recounting the conversation. "She said, 'All right, I'll call you back.' I haven't heard nothing," said Hollinger.

Gloucester police are hoping you can help them identify the people pictured.

"We're trying to identify these people so we can get to bottom of what their intentions were," Deputy Chief David Harkins said.

Hollinger said he's intent on getting his phone back, hoping his priceless pictures are still stored inside.
