Surrounded by family, Sheila Payton could hardly hold up her own head. Her 40-year-old sister and ten-year-old niece are in the hospital, victims of the same brutal crash that killed her 22-year-old daughter.

"It's hard, but I got my family," she said. "I just want my baby back."

Police say the driver that caused the crash was a 34-year-old suicidal woman. Police tried to help the woman Monday near her Oak Park home, but when officers arrived, she jumped in her Chevy Equinox and led police on a chase so dangerous they called it off.

"The lady that did it, I'm so mad at her," Payton said.

The woman is accused of speeding southbound on Coolidge and running a red light a Pearson before T-boning a black Dodge Journey that had the right of way.

In the passenger seat, 22-year-old Paris, was killed instantly. Her aunt and ten-year-old cousin were rushed to the hospital.

"Paris is so sweet and happy and bubbly and lovable," Payton said. "She's outgoing. She loved kids, and she just left too soon."

Paris was studying to be a pediatric nurse. Even in her baby pictures, her caring nature shined through.

Sources said the driver told police she did not intentionally cause the crash. She said she was running from police so she could take her life on her own, but she could spend the rest of her days in prison. She is charged with fleeing and eluding police causing death.

Parents don't expect to have to bury a child, so they are asking for your help. The family plans to set up a fund in Paris' name at Comerica Bank.
