Parking meter deal, Pride Parade, and health tips: Chat Room

On Wednesday's Chat Room, Sun-Times Splash Editor Susanna Negovan and PR consultant Jessica Priego joined Good Day Chicago anchor Anna Davlantes to discuss Chicago's parking meter deal, politicians and the Pride Parade, and the unusual lengths one supermodel goes to for beauty.

You may be wondering when you'll get free parking meters on Sunday's. On Wednesday, Chicago City Council might pass a compromise to the much hated parking meter deal.

Residents in River North however, feel like they will be getting the short end of the stick. People in that neighborhood will now have to pay for parking until midnight. There's still 71 years left on the lease, but will what city council decides Wednesday make it a little for tolerable for residents in the city?

After Illinois legislators failed to vote on same-sex marriage, Gold Coast resident Curtis Bumgarner created an online petition proposing to ban all Illinois politicians from participating in this year's Chicago Pride Parade.

He says, "if you can't help us - why should we help you?"

And it's gaining traction - in just one day, almost 1,500 people signed the petition.

Super model Giselle Bundchen is pointing out the sometimes unusual lengths people go to for beauty in a video for Vogue magazine.

Cupping and blood facials make appearances as well as the trusty old tanning bed, facial and hair dye.

Dr. Mona Khanna also joined the Chat Room with dietician and nutrition expert Dawn Jackson-Blattner to discuss job burnout.

When people get incredibly stressed at work, they say they feel like they can't quit to find a less stressful job.

And do vegetarians live longer? Research just published in the Jama Medical Journal found that vegetarians had a 12% lower risk of dying over a 6-year-period over people who aren't vegetarian.
