MORRISTOWN, N.J. (AP) - New York Jets running back Mike Goodson is due in court in New Jersey for a proceeding related to his arrest last month on drug and weapons charges.
Goodson was arrested last month along with a friend after they were found in a car stopped on Interstate 80. The men were charged with marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and weapons offenses stemming from a 45-caliber semi-automatic handgun that included a hollow-point bullet found in the vehicle.
Goodson has pleaded not guilty and has taken part in some preseason practices with the Jets.
The 25-year-old played three seasons for Carolina and one for Oakland before the Jets signed him to a 3-year, $6.9 million deal.
Wednesday's hearing is scheduled for state Superior Court in Morristown.

The New York Mets and free-agent Curtis Granderson have agreed on a four-year deal, sources tell FOX 5 News. The now former NY Yankees outfielder will reportedly be paid $60M. Granderson, 32, suffered a broken forearm and pinkie injury limiting his play during the 2013 season.
